Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Editif ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Editif, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Description of Service
What Editif Provides
Editif is an AI-powered online platform for adding subtitles to video, free audio and video transcription, text-to-speech voiceover generation, OCR (image to text), and browser-based video and image editing tools. Some features are free and require no account; others require registration and may consume credits.
Browser-Based Tools
Our free tools (video editing, transcription, image compression, background removal, OCR) process files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. These files are never uploaded to our servers. These tools are provided free of charge with no file size limits.
AI-Powered Tools
Our AI subtitle generation and Pro cloud transcription process data on our servers. Files uploaded for these features are encrypted during transit and at rest, and are retained for up to 3 days to allow you to access your results, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted. We do not store your content beyond this period.
Text-to-Speech
Our AI text-to-speech voiceover service generates audio on our servers and delivers the result to you immediately. We do not retain your text input or the generated audio after delivery.
User Accounts
Account Creation
Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
Account Security
You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Editif will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.
Acceptable Use
Permitted Use
You may use Editif for lawful purposes only. You retain all rights to the content you upload and create using our tools. Editif does not claim ownership of your content.
Prohibited Activities
You may not: (a) use the Service to process, store, or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable; (b) attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its servers; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service; (d) use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use; (e) resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without written permission.
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all content you upload, process, or create using Editif. You represent that you have all necessary rights and permissions to use the content you submit to the Service.
Credits & Payments
Credit System
Certain AI-powered features (subtitle generation, cloud transcription) require credits. Free credits are provided upon registration. Additional credits can be purchased through our pricing page. Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
Payments
All payments are processed securely by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Prices are displayed in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes. By making a purchase, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method.
No Refunds
All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds will be issued. If you experience a technical issue where credits were deducted without delivering results, please contact support and we will investigate and restore credits where appropriate.
Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you upload to or create with Editif. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. By using the Service, you grant Editif a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
Our Service
The Editif platform, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the intellectual property of Editif and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
AI Accuracy
Our AI-powered transcription and subtitle alignment achieve high accuracy but are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Results may vary depending on audio quality, accents, background noise, and other factors. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated output before use.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Editif and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Termination
By You
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting our support team.
By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in prohibited activities, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or other users. We will attempt to notify you before termination where practicable.
Changes to These Terms
Modifications
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
