Anyone who has sped up a tape knows pitch and speed are physically linked — play samples faster and the voice rises and rushes. The trick to changing one without the other is to do both, then undo one. This tool scales the sample rate to shift pitch (1.4x for Baby, 0.6x for Monster), resamples to a clean 48 kHz, then applies the inverse tempo change so the timing lands back exactly where it started.
For extreme presets the tempo correction is chained in steps automatically, since each tempo filter instance works within a 0.5x–2x window. The result: a chipmunk that still finishes its sentences on time, over untouched video.
Five characters and where they fit
Deep (0.75x) is the most broadly useful — movie-trailer gravitas for promos, or simple light disguise for a voice that should not be identifiable in a shared clip. Baby and Chipmunk are comedy tools: reaction videos, pet 'commentary', birthday edits. Monster (0.6x) pushes past deep into villain territory and pairs well with dim, moody footage.
Robot takes the other path entirely: an echo at millisecond spacing plus rapid tremolo modulation, no pitch change. It reads as synthetic rather than shifted, which suits tech skits and PSA-style narration. Preview each preset live on your clip before processing — the same voice wears each character differently.

What voice presets are available?
Five: Baby (pitch raised 1.4x), Chipmunk (1.8x), Deep (0.75x), Monster (0.6x), and Robot. The first four shift pitch; Robot leaves pitch alone and instead layers a tight echo with a 10 Hz tremolo, the classic mechanical shimmer.
Does the voice change make my video longer or shorter?
No — that is the point of the technique. Raising pitch by resampling alone would also speed the audio up; this tool compensates with a matching tempo correction so duration and lip-sync stay exactly as filmed. Only the character of the voice changes.
Is the picture re-encoded?
No. The video stream is copied through untouched — only the audio is processed and re-encoded (AAC, 192 kbps). Even long videos process quickly because the frames never go through the encoder.
How does the pitch shift actually work?
The audio is reinterpreted at a scaled sample rate (asetrate), which shifts pitch and speed together, then resampled back to a standard 48 kHz and tempo-corrected (atempo) to restore the original timing. The chain runs entirely in your browser.
Will it work on videos without speech?
Yes — the filters process whatever the soundtrack contains. Music comes out genuinely strange (sometimes wonderfully so), ambient sound turns uncanny. For voice-focused results, cleaner input reads better: less background noise means a more convincing character.
